Request for the renewal of Temporary Vows
Respected Father,
I, Bro. A. Balaswamy SM, would like to request you to allow me to renew my vows. I have professed my vows in 2008. From then onwards I have worked in several mission stations in India. Each year I felt I am energized with the great attitudes towards nurturing my vocation with deep sense of religiosity. I am very happy to become a Marianist Brother and work for the glory of God through serving his people by allowing myself to follow the vow of obedience to my superiors.
At present, I have been under the guidance of my scholasticate staff. I found the example of my staff in the community as steps to become a good religious. It is my second year of scholasticate, I have been doing well in my studies and also in my community as an active participant in all the community activities. I feel that I have cultivated an unending zeal towards becoming a good Marianist with the help of the brothers in the community. I have experienced the love and encouragement of the staff and the brothers which eventually led me to motivate myself more profoundly towards becoming a good Marianist in this challenging world.
I find happiness in observing Vows, poverty, obedience and chastity by living the life to its fullness in the community. The great inspiration that I found in my vocation is Mother Mary without whom I feel difficulty in nurturing my vocation. In this one year I have experienced constant encouragement of Mary in each activity that I do in the community.
Thus, with all these memorable experiences as a growing Marianist, I humbly request you to permit me to renew my vows for another one year.
Yours sincerely,
Balaswamy A.
I have been a scholastic for a year and that now, I complete my first year, I find joy in living my Marianist life and wish to continue my life as a Marianist.
I have been growing in the Marianist way of life, in a special way, prayer life, community life, and intellectual life. My prayer life helps me to be in touch with my inner self and helps me to study well. My community life strengthens my relationship with the brothers. My companions are great help for me to realize my call and to respond to the call with faith and love. Fraternal correction, sharing, mutual help and support have become an integral part of my everyday life. My vowed life has brought me very close to Jesus and Mary and their love for me. I feel that God has called me for a purpose and that is through me being a Marianist.
My reflections, spiritual guidance, personal talk with the director and my way of life have helped me to discern well to continue my life as a Marianist. Therefore, I kindly request you to permit me to renew my vows for one more year.
